Tradescantia zebrina / ‘Zebra’ in 12cm Pot

Tradescantia zebrina, also known as the inch plant, is a popular houseplant with striking variegated leaves in green, purple and silver. Its trailing habit makes it ideal for hanging planters or shelves where the foliage can cascade.

Easy to grow and tolerant of neglect, it thrives in warm conditions with bright light and can tolerate some direct sun. Water freely in spring and summer, allowing the top few centimetres of compost to dry out between waterings.

Remove any solid green leaves, which can outgrow the variegated form and may indicate the plant needs more light. Plants can become leggy over time but are very easy to rejuvenate from cuttings.
