Tamarindus indica (Tamarind) 12cm Pot

€15.99 “Price excl. VAT: €14.09”

Tamarindus indica is a striking, long-lived tree prized for its sweet-tart edible pods and elegant form. Its finely divided, pinnate leaves create a soft, feathery canopy, bringing a lush, tropical feel to any space. Although it can grow into a magnificent tree in its native habitat, it adapts well to container cultivation and responds well to pruning, making it an attractive indoor specimen or distinctive bonsai.

Grow in a position with bright, indirect light and temperatures between 15–25C, avoiding cold draughts. Average indoor humidity is usually sufficient, although higher humidity will encourage lush growth. If the air is particularly dry, use a pebble tray or humidifier to increase humidity. Water regularly from spring to autumn, keeping the compost evenly moist but never waterlogged and allow excess water to drain away. During winter, reduce watering, allowing the surface of the compost to dry slightly between waterings, but do not let it dry out completely. Feed every 2–4 weeks with a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser in spring and summer while the plant is actively growing.
