6.99 “Price excl. VAT: 6.16

Sanseveria, native to West Africa and commonly known as snake plant or mother-in-law’s tongue, is one of the most low maintenance plants you’ll find. They can stand a wide range of temperatures and light conditions, and, if necessary, can be left to fend for themselves for several weeks at a time. Its succulent spears shoot out and can grow quite tall and heavy.  This plant is perfect for beginners as it is happy in all kinds of environments and is one of the most low maintenance plants you can find.

Sansevieria bacularis Mikado is a lovely compact variety of snake plant, thick rod like leaves with a delicate green striping.

Care:

Sanseveria likes bright indirect sunlight, but will tolerate low light conditions.

The main thing to avoid with this plant is overwatering, so only water when the compost gets quite dry. In winter you can cut back even more and only water every month or two and keep temperatures above 10°C. Repot every few years when the roots start to split the pot.
