Kalanchoe rotundifolia known as the common Kalanchoe, is a succulent plant which originates from South Africa
It will grow to a height of up to 1m tall under favourable, bright conditions. It has rounded or lobed leaves that grow in clusters at the base of erect stems. The genus Kalanchoe includes more than 100 plants and most of them are native to arid areas. They therefore can survive on limited amounts of water and should not be allow to sit in boggy compost.
- This plant is prized for its foliage which is blue/grey with an attractive ‘bloom’.
- It flowers in response to length of daylight and can be encouraged to bloom even in the darkest, shortest days of winter.
- Give it the lightest location you can spare. A windowsill is ideal.
- This species might produce orange flowers if kept in ideal conditions.
