Hosta Mix 15cm Pot

Hostas are prized mainly for their foliage, though they also produce attractive, often lightly scented summer flowers. These hardy, clump-forming perennials are popular with container gardeners and provide excellent low-growing foliage interest from spring through summer. They thrive in light to partial shade and are very versatile garden plants.

Hosta leaves are also useful for cutting, with many colours and textures available, including silver, variegated, heart-shaped, crinkled and smooth forms.

Grow hostas in moist, fertile soil in light or partial shade. Protect them from slugs and snails, mulch annually with organic matter and divide congested clumps every three to five years.

In summer, hostas produce purple or white flowers on tall stems. While attractive, these can fade quickly, so they are often removed to keep the focus on the foliage.
