Gardenia jasminoides (Cape Jasmine) 13cm Pot

Gardenia jasminoides is a bushy evergreen shrub with glossy dark green leaves and highly fragrant, star-shaped white flowers from late spring to mid-summer.

It can be grown outdoors in a sheltered position or indoors as a houseplant if given bright light, warmth and high humidity. It prefers rich, well-drained, acidic to neutral soil and dislikes competition from nearby plant roots, so it suits containers well.

Water regularly in dry periods and feed with a balanced fertiliser in spring and early summer. Light pruning after flowering helps maintain shape and remove spent blooms.
