Dryopteris affinis ‘Cristata The King’ (Hardy Male Fern) 3L Pot

A cultivar of the native male fern, Dryopteris affinis, found in woodlands in wetter parts of Ireland. This handsome, semi-evergreen fern retains its fronds for most of the year. The young fronds unfurl in a golden-green hue, and the plant maintains a fresh, bright appearance throughout summer. Ideal for a moist, shady border alongside other woodland plants.

Incorporate plenty of well-rotted leaf mould, composted pine needles or garden compost into the planting hole. Cut back any decayed fronds in winter to allow new growth to emerge.

Supplied in a 3 litre pot
