Celosia (Cockscomb) Mix 12cm Pot

With vivid colours and showy blooms, celosia is highly decorative for indoor displays or summer gardens, flowering from midsummer to early autumn. It is frost-tender and usually grown as an annual.

Celosia also makes an excellent cut flower and is especially popular in Japan, where many varieties have been bred for this purpose. Dried blooms retain their colour for at least six months.

Grow in a warm, sheltered site in full sun. Keep compost evenly moist and feed regularly while in flower. Plants can be grown outdoors in pots or borders from early summer until the first frosts, then discarded or composted.

Celosia also performs well as an indoor plant in a conservatory, porch, or greenhouse, but is best avoided in centrally heated rooms. It looks most effective planted in groups and combines well with other exotic-style plants such as Canna lilies and tender salvias.
