Begonia rex Special / Exclusive Mix 8cm Pot

Rex begonias are prized for their colourful, dramatic foliage. There are many cultivated varieties, featuring large leaves adorned with streaks, spirals, veins and other intricate patterns, often highlighted with splashes of silver, pink, purple, green and burgundy. Their flowers tend to be inconspicuous and are often removed to keep the leaves looking their best.

Rex begonias prefer bright, indirect light. Avoid strong direct sunlight, which can scorch their leaves and cause their colours to fade. They should be kept warm and away from cold draughts and sudden changes in temperature.

Keep the compost lightly moist, allowing the surface to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid overwatering and never leave the plant sitting in water. Rex begonias also appreciate high humidity, so a naturally humid room such as a bathroom can be ideal, provided there is plenty of light and good airflow.
