Begonia boliviensis ‘Bonfire’ Orange 11cm Pot

5.99 “Price excl. VAT: 5.28

Bonfire begonias bloom during the warmer months of the year. They cover themselves in a shower of bright red-orange flowers, held over their handsome deep-green foliage, so that the plants become a cascade of brilliant colour. Bonfire begonias are easy to grow, don’t need maintenance, are happy both in sun to part shade and stand up to the occasional summer rainstorm. These are glorious plants for where a mass of colour is needed with little or no care.

Whether grown in the ground or in a container, these Bonfire begonias grow in full sun to partial shade. Plant 40-50 cm apart in well drained friable soil or potting mix. For a more compact growth habit, pinch the tips to encourage further branching. To reinvigorate your plants, dig, divide and re plant the tubers every three years.
Begonias do appreciate being kept moist throughout the growing season so be sure to keep an eye on containers and hanging baskets. For the maximum floral show, use a flower booster controlled release fertiliser in spring.
Begonia Bonfire looks good in any setting: in hanging baskets, in large containers, as foundation plantings along the base of walls or beside entrance steps. When they are planted en masse they are an astonishing sight.
