Apoballis acuminatissima ‘Red Sword’ is a captivating tropical plant prized for its distinctive foliage.  The ‘Red Sword’ variety features striking, lance-shaped leaves that display a deep, rich red on the underside and a dark, glossy green on the upper surface. These leaves can grow up to 30-40 cm in length, adding a bold splash of colour to any indoor plant collection.

• Thrives in bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, causing discolouration and damage. This plant can tolerate lower light conditions but will grow more slowly and may lose some of its vibrant colour.
• Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water the plant when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. This plant prefers high humidity levels. Regular misting, using a humidifier, or placing the plant on a pebble tray with water can help maintain adequate humidity.
• Maintain a temperature range between 18-24°C  Avoid exposing the plant to sudden temperature fluctuations.Keep the plant away from cold drafts or hot, dry air.
• Feed the plant with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer).
