Westland Cacti Compost
Cacti and succulents are unique plants. They retain moisture over long periods and do not need a great deal of watering. However, they do need a gritty porous with good drainage and the correct nutrient balance for strong, healthy growth.
Feeding & aftercare:
Westland Cacti Compost will deliver all the nutrients your plants needs for strong healthy growth in the first 4-6 weeks. After that, feed them at 2-3 week intervals during the growing season with Westland Cacti Plant Food.
Keep cacti and succulents in light, airy conditions in temperatures above 5°C. Place in south facing positions for maximum sunlight.
Ensure cacti and succelents are not over-watered. Wait until the compost looks dry before watering. Water less frequently in the autumn and not at all during the winter unless the plant starts to shrivel. From late spring onwards, water regularly according to weather conditions and the plant variety.
How to use this compost:
First put on a pair of gloves and rework the compost so it regains its intended structure. Then you're all set!
Sowing seeds
Fill seed tray with compost. Water thoroughly with a fine rose and then allow to drain for several hours. Succulent seeds are very small so just press then into the compost. Cover the tray with black polythene and glass to retain the moisture and keep out light.
