This tropical perennial shrub is commonly used as an indoor plant and produces green and white variegated leaves. A low-light-tolerant houseplant, striped dracaena reaches 4 feet tall. This plant accepts pruning without any problem, but does not require regular pruning except in special situations.
Too much water or too little humidity turns the leaves brown. Removing the brown leaves is the closest to regular pruning maintenance that striped dracaena needs. Gently pull off dried leaves that are completely brown. If only the tip or a small portion of the leaves are discolored, then cut the brown portion away with a pair of sharp shears. Try to shape the remaining part of the leaf to resemble the original shape.
