Rhubarb Champagne is an early cropper. Plant February - May and harvest April - July. On a light soil plant crown, so bud is covered with 2 - 5cm (1.5 inches ) of soil. However on a heavier soil, plant bud just above soil level.
Make sure that you space plants 90cm ( 30 inches ) apart. Rhubarb does best on a well drained soil but works on most soils. Make sure to remove any flowering stems as soon as they appear, snap or cut them off. When harvesting the first year, harvest lightly until established.
